WildFire

Where the wind whistles or wither the rain falls;
There change never ceases.
Lest I be dashed to pieces; 

Lord that these changes my faith only increases..

Confounded by this earth and all her illusions;

I wonder why I am dealt such confusion..

Seemingly legions of turns I must make as onward I struggle.

Help me the right path to take as even now i stumble.

Which way shall I set my sails?

For on every side I am buffeted about,

Is not my face ashen and pail? 

And of this boat I only want out..

As I face the flames growing high,

I see no release.

Kneeling in the melting heat I let an outward cry;

Lord! Why have you not given me peace?

Then, from behind me, I hear,

a quiet assurring voice;

Child I am so near!

If only you will make me your choice!

The path you have taken 

Is yours, not mine..

If you have been shaken;

It has been on your own time.

Trembling in weakness I turn.

    Lord, Lead me.

Then rising! Free!

My chains fall off! I stand to follow..

A cool washes over me;

No more in quagmire will I wallow.

He leads me, Gently;

Back the the way I had come.

Towards the right path;

With my eyes on him I have not a care,

    Only to follow!

    Simply follow....

I started writing this nearly two years ago,

Then i tried to forge my own path in life.

I lost my Joy and my ability to write.

So here i am now able to finish it.

For anyone struggling, its much easier to simply follow...

The first part i had written earlier.

The last half came from an inspiration the Lord gave me through all that is going on in the world

at the moment with Covid 19. I wasnt sure how to deal with it all then one day God gave me a picture of myself facing a giant forest fire. Surrounded, about to surrender. Then he appeared behind me and led me out through a small opening to safety. I had not even seen he was there i was so consumed and frightened by the fire and looking totally the wrong direction. Remember to look up to Him not at the things around us!!
